Real Housewives of New York City Picked Up for Third Season

The stars of Real Housewives of New York City aren’t going anywhere.

Bravo has picked up a third season of the hit reality show, the network announced Tuesday. The second season of the NYC version of the Real Housewives franchise was significantly more popular — with a season average of 1.95 million total viewers — than its initial season.

Both the season finale and the reunion special for the show received more than two million total viewers.

Production for the third season — which will premiere in 2010 — will begin this fall, and Bravo is currently casting for additional housewives to join the likes of Bethenny Frankel, Ramona Singer and Alex McCord.
